The City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office is committed to providing our community with a professional fire and life safety program through comprehensive fire protection plan reviews, informative occupancy inspections, effective fire and life safety code enforcement, and definitive fire origin and cause investigations in order to reduce the loss of life and property of the citizens of the City of Humble. We will strive to maintain an unmatched level of professionalism and support to our community.
The City of Humble utilizes the International Code Council- International Fire Code 2018
Fire Marshal Office Activities and Services
The City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office is assigned with the responsibility of Fire and life safety inspections of all Commercial and Public Buildings, Fire and Explosion Investigations and Public Education.
Fire and Life Safety Inspections
The City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office conducts Fire and Life Safety Inspections and Plan Reviews on all commercial and public buildings within our jurisdiction.
There are numerous types of inspections performed by the Inspection Division. New Construction, Code Compliance, Fire System Installation, and Certificate of Occupancy. Annual Fire Code Compliance Inspections are typically completed annually on all commercial and public buildings. All Inspections are performed in accordance with the International Fire Code 2018 and City of Humble Code and Ordinances.
Fire and Arson Investigation
The Investigation Division is tasked with determining the cause and origin of all fires and explosions.
All City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office employees are cross-trained, they are licensed as Law Enforcement Officers through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and Certified Arson Investigator through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
The City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office Investigators will work the investigation from cause and origin through the arrest, if necessary. Investigators will use modern methodologies and forensic investigations to ensure that all investigations meet all local, state, and federal requirements. All investigations are pursuant to the City of Humble Codes and Ordinance and the Texas Penal Code.
These Investigators are very skilled and have a high success rate in determining whether suspicious fires are Arson. They also have a very high conviction rate for those determined to be Arson.
Public Education
A vital function of the City of Humble Fire Marshal’s Office is to educate citizens and business owners/workers on the dangers of fire and how to prevent a fire from occurring. Often the key to preventing fires and other emergency incidents is to provide education and change risky behaviors.
