JUVENILE APPEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

If you are a juvenile (under 17 years of age) and you have been charged with a Penal Code or City Ordinance violation including a traffic ticket, state law requires that you MUST appear in court with a parent or legal guardian. You may NOT pre-pay your fine. A juvenile who fails to appear in court may have his/her driver’s license suspended.

A child and parent required to appear before the court have an obligation to provide the court in writing with the current address and residence of the child. The obligation does not end when the child reaches age 17. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGLECTING THIS TICKET

Failure to pay your fine, show proof, apply for a driver’s safety course, or failure to appear at your scheduled court date will result in:
An arrest warrant issued against you; ($50 warrant fee and a Collection Agency fee for each offense) Denial of your driver’s license renewal until bonds are posted or all outstanding tickets are paid.
MISSING YOUR COURT DATE – If you miss your scheduled court date you will need to contact the clerks office in person at the Municipal Court Building, 315 Bender Avenue, Humble, TX 77338.

SHOWING PROOF ON OR BEFORE YOUR COURT DATE

IN PERSON – You may present the required proof before your scheduled court date at the Municipal Court Building, 315 Bender Avenue, Humble, TX 77338 between the hours of 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday – Friday, or you may appear in court on the date and time indicated on the ticket.

CONTESTING YOUR TICKET

Appear in Court on the Arraignment Court Date scheduled on this ticket and plead Not Guilty. A trial date will be announced at that time.

RESETTING YOUR COURT DATE

If you cannot make the scheduled Court date on this ticket, go to Municipal Court Building 315 Bender Avenue, Humble, TX 77338 to have your court date rescheduled ONE TIME ONLY. Reset dates cannot be given over the phone. Your signature is required on reset forms.

On conviction for the offense of failure to maintain financial responsibility, your license is subject to suspension if you fail to provide to the DepEirtrnent of Public Safety proof of financial responsibility as required by Section 1F of Article 6701 h, Vernon’s Civil Statutes.

A second or subsequent conviction of failure to maintain financial responsibility will result in the suspension of your driver’s license and motor vehicle registration unless you file and maintain proof of financial responsibility with the Department of Public Safety for at least two years from the date of conviction. The Department may waive the requirement to the proof of financial responsibility if you file satisfactory evidence with the Department showing that at the time this citation was issued, the vehicle was covered by a liability insurance policy or that you were otherwise exempt from the requirement to provide ev.dence of financial responsibility.
